Decorative woodcut in golden colors

I started this shirt in October 20, 2006, and it was completed and mailed out six days later. This was a simple, but fun red pirate style shirt I made for a friend, for his activities in LARP with the White Wolf games at International Camarilla Conclave in 2006. It was a gift for an old friend.

The shirt was originally going to be made of fabric I had in my stash, but it dyed to a much lighter shade of red (more like pink), which was unsuitable for my friend's desire for a really red shirt. So I purchased some red cotton sateen to use instead. I used a commercial pattern I had in my stash of patterns, although I have made similar shirts using simple rectangle pieces. The front closes with a hook and eye, as do the cuffs. Buttons were added to the cuffs for a decorative element only.

It is a very puffy shirt, typical of the modern pirate interpretation. It would look just as attractive on a woman or a man, and the images here show it on a woman's dress dummy, since I do not yet own a man's dress form.
